WARRI — CHAIRMAN of Anioma Agenda, a political pressure group in Delta North senatorial district of Delta State, Mr. Alex Onwuadiamu, has explained why Anioma people require the support of Central and South senatorial districts for the 2015 governorship election.
Speaking at a consultative meeting with members of Delta Central Political Movement, DCPM in Agbarho, Ughelli, he noted that no one ethnic nationality or senatorial district in the state can win the governorship election without help from other zones.
Onwuadiamu said that in furtherance of building bridges across other ethnic nationalities in the state, “Anioma Agenda believes that the event of the 2011 governorship election had proved to all political stakeholders that no single ethnic nationality or senatorial district can solely win the governorship election without support from other zones, hence genuinely, Aniomas seek the support of the Urhobo ethnic stakeholders in its quest for the governorship in 2015.”
Onwuadiamu, in a statement by Mr. Oyibosochukwu Nwabueze, Director, Media and Research of the group, said that the unity of the state depends on mutual trust and respect for each other.
