Daniel, Kaka, Kawonise, others express shock over death of Okeowo

ABEOKUTA-Former National President of the National Union of Nigerian Students (NUNS) Comrade Segun Okeowo, is dead.

Okeowo,the Icon of Nigerian students Struggle of 1978, otherwise known as “Alli Must Go Struggle” died in the early hours of Tuesday, in his residence in Sagamu area of the state.

He was former chairman, Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TSC), between
2003 to 2011.

In a condolence message by the former governor of the state, Chief Gbenga Daniel, described the late Okeowo as a legendary fighter and true democrat.

Daniel in a statement signed by his Media Assistance, Ayo Giwa, expressed grief at the demise of Okeowo.

Daniel said that the late student leader was a legendary freedom fighter who sacrificed his whole life in the struggle for the emancipation of Nigerian students, youths as well as the voiceless masses.

Also, the Senator representing Ogun East in the National Assembly, Alhaji Adegbenga Kaka, foremost governorship aspirant, Sina Kmawonise  expressed grief and shock at the death of  Okeowo,describing him as  a numero uno former student leader, activist and liberator of the oppressed and voiceless masses.

The governorship candidate of the People’s Party of Nigeria (PPN), Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka described  the late Okeowo  as  an inspirational Nigerian that advocated for social democracy and also a true leading light of the state.
