Lagos — The Police Assistance Committee, PAC, has put all its members on security alert nationwide, for the yuletide season, urging them to be vigilant by monitoring security situations in their environment and reporting suspicious movements to the Police and other security agencies.
In a statement in Lagos, Director-General of PAC, Dr. Martins Oni enjoined all executive members comprising of chairmen, secretaries and public relations officers of trade associations and artisans, as well as zonal and unit co-ordinators across the country to mobilise their members at the grassroots to gather intelligence which they can pass on to security agencies to prevent and combat crimes during the festivities.
Oni urged members to effectively coordinate and properly mobilise to ensure assistance for the Police and other security agencies with useful information that could help in curbing criminality.
He also appealed to security agencies to give their members easy, direct access to them for quick information sharing.
The PAC boss commended the various units of the Nigeria Police Force as well as other security agencies on the good work done recent times to confront various security challenges plaguing our country, urging them to also be extra vigilant during this end-of-year celebration to ensure that security of the country is not compromised in any way.
