It was learnt that the gunmen, who abducted the wife and daughter of the state PDP treasurer at the riverside Opume town in Ogbia council area of the state also demanded to speak with the brother to the husband of the kidnapped woman, King Amalate J. Turner.
King Turner is the paramount ruler of OpumeKingdom and an influential figure in the state as well as a close associate of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The operatives of the state police command, it was learnt, have tracked the kidnappers of the mother and daughter to the creeks of OndoState.
A source close to the anti-kidnapping squad of the state command said intelligence indicates that the kidnappers have moved the abductees to a location in Ondo.
Contacted on the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Alex Akhigbe, said though the report on the ransom demand had not been made available to the command, its operatives were on the trail of the kidnappers and would soon apprehend them.
