The traditional ruler of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu yesterday told the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Willy Obiano that he may soon become number citizen in his domain, adding that the eye knows a ripe corn.
The Awka monarch spoke when Obiano paid him a courtesy visit as part of activities to flag off his campaign.
Obi Nwosu said though traditional rulers are not supposed to participate in politics they however have eyes and can tell if whether a person will be good or bad if given the mandate.
Paying homage to the royal father, Obiano recalled how Obi Nwosu, in 2008 at Aguleri, prophesized that he was going to be governor of AnambraState.
He said: “At the time Eze Uzu made that remark, I was not even into politics as I was busy with my work at Fidelity Bank.
When I visited him earlier this year, he repeated the statement and I want to assure him that I will not disappoint the people of Awka when I become the governor of AnambraState.”
Ebube foundation denies endorsing Ubah
A Non Governmental Organization, NGO, Ebube Foundation, has denied collapsing its structure and endorsing the governorship ambition of Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the Labour Party candidate for the Anambra governorship election.
Reacting to a report that the Foundation has collapsed its structure and declared for Ifeanyi Ubah, an official of the Foundation, Mrs. Amaka Obimdike said that such insinuation is the handiwork of mischief makers since there is no iota of truth in the publication.
The release noted that Ebube Foundation is not a political structure and will not dabble into political gerrymandering. It said that though the Foundation was founded by Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, a former governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, he never used the Foundation for political gains.
