ABEOKUTA — Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and other leaders of Labour Party, LP, have moved against Governor Ibikunle Amosun, saying he must go in 2015.
The party secretary in Ogun State, Sunday Ogini who disclosed this yesterday, at a meeting in Abeokuta, said the party National Chairman, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu would lead members of his executive to sensitise the people of the state to embrace the party.
Ogini said the planned mega rally which would hold in a couple of weeks in Abeokuta, would also feature formal opening of the party’s new secretariat in Abeokuta for the preparation of 2015 general election.
According to Ogini: “Governor Olusegun Mimiko, our party National Chairman, former governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and our governorship candidate in Anambra State, Dr. Ifeanyi Uba are coming to Ogun State for a mega rally and to open our party secretariat.
“It is to sensitise the people of the state on the need to embrace Labour Party and reject Amosun-led government in the state.”
The party, however, noted it had embarked on a spiritual exercise to ensure victory for its governorship candidate in AnambraState, Dr. Ifeanyi Uba.
According to him: “If the party wins Anambra governorship election, it will ease the task in Ekiti and Osun states and then Ogun and other South Western states.”
