WARRI — LAWYER and activist, Chief Festus Keyamo, who is eyeing the Delta Central senatorial seat that became vacant following the death of Senator Pius Ewherido, has intensified his campaign with tours to various communities and meetings with prominent Urhobo leaders.
He met with influential leaders in Urhobo land, including President-General of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Major-General Patrick Aziza (rtd), Chief P.E. Ideh, Senator Adegor Eferakeya, Dr. T. Salubi, Mr. Charles Oniyere, Chief Phillip Eyagomare and Mr. Ufuoma Oyen.
His spokesman, Mr. Frank Oshanugor, said “Everywhere he went, the leaders gave their blessings and many of them could not hide their feelings that his entry into Delta State politics and particularly the Delta Central senatorial race had elevated political discourse in the area to a higher intellectual height.
“The leaders observed that the issues raised by Keyamo in his campaign messages were intellectually deep-rooted. This, it was noted, obviously places him miles away ahead of those who woo loyal followers with money and nothing more.”
