IBADAN —PEOPLES Democratic Party in the South West has said it was battle ready to wrestle the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria for the control of the zone in the 2015 elections.
As a result, it called on the national secretariat of the party to ensure that governorship candidates for the 2015 elections emerge within the next six months to enable the party unseat the ruling ACN in all the South West states through democratic means.
This was disclosed yesterday by the Caretaker Chairman of the Reconciliation Committee in the zone, Chief Ishola Filani at the presentation of reports by six committee chairmen in the zone yesterday.
The event which took place at the party’s zonal secretariat, Ibadan was attended by representatives from the six states in the zone.
The committees were set up to find causes of disunity within the PDP in the South West and all the reports from the six states were presented to the Chairman of the Caretaker Reconciliation Party in the zone.
The committees were headed by Senator Lekan Balogun(Lagos), Dr. Abayomi Finnih(Oyo), Chief Mobolaji Oshomo(Osun), Ambassador Toye Olofintuyi(Ondo) and Chief Faniran Fadahunsi(Ogun) states.
