Police, judiciary urged to be neutral in Rivers political crisis

YOUTHS of Rivers have enjoined the Police and the judiciary to be neutral in the political crisis rocking the State.

Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Comrade Kingsley Ibanichuka who made the appeal at a press briefing yesterday in Port Harcourt also cautioned youths in the state to resist politicians who may want to recruit them for political violence in the state.

Continuing, the youths appealed to all parties in the political crisis to put the interest of the state first in all they do, adding that youths of Obio Akpor local government area should shun any temptation to go violent over the political issues playing up around the local government and the council secretariat.

While urging governor Chibuike Amaechi not to be distracted by the political crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP the youths said they would continue to celebrate his achievement as governor.

“To our beloved governor, the gratitude of Rivers youths remains inestimably in your favour. The youth, the energy base of the Rivers state urge His Excellency, governor Amaechi not to lose focus to pursue his developmental strides and target programs for the state with renewed vigour and commitment”.

“We pledge to amplify the good works of the governor in all our programmes and to raise the ovation loudest”, they said.
