Coach Gbenga Ogunbote is planning an escape route for relegation-threatened Sharks of Port Harcourt.
Sharks are presently in the 18th position with 14 points on the league table and started battling relegation from the first game of the season.
But Ogunbote said during the week that the club would not be relegated at the end of the season.
“I am very confident that we cannot but stay in the Nigeria Professional Football League next season. I know we have a good team.”And the players have assured me that they are going to put in their best to make sure that we avoid the drop to the lower league.
“We are doing everything possible to make sure that we are not relegated and it is not an empty boast that Sharks will not go down.
“We have a crop of players that are ready to sacrifice so much to make the team remain in the elite division. And I know that during the mid season transfer window, we are also going to get in some players to fortify the team.
“Our supporters should not despair. There is no cause for alarm. We will get it right at the right time. The new players recruited during week nine and still blending with the old ones.
“What I know is that we have the wherewithal to finish well at the end of the season,” Ogunbote said.
