A Lagos based lawyer, Ademola Koko has petitioned the Inspector General Police, IG, over alleged illegal activities,  acts capable of disrupting public peace, and  unconstitutional use of police, in respect of a landed property at Oribanwa village, Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State by some persons in the area.

The lawyer in the petition said,  “Pursuant to our petition dated March 6, 2013 of which the IG monitoring unit, Kam Salem, Lagos was instructed to take over the case from the general investigation under Deputy Inspector General of Police,  Abuja, we hereby raise serious complaints about the activities of the Investigation Police Officer, IPO.

“On May 17, 2013, the IPO came with another officer to, “arrest our clients and he subjected them to serious inhuman treatments without reporting their arrival at Elemoro Police Station, which has original  jurisdiction or the Area “J” Police Command at Ibeju Lekki council, Lagos and detained them unconstitutionally at Lagos State Police Command SARS.

“They were taken to Abuja with bail conditions made difficult, just to wear them out psychologically. This ugly trend is barbaric, unlawful, disgraceful and annoying,” Koko said.
