OWERRI —Imo State High Court presided over by Hon. Justice Paschal Nnadi has declared that the Chairman of South East Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, is not an ex-convict.
Eze Ilomuanya had approached the court to clear the smear on his person on getting to know about the resolution of Imo State House of Assembly, which branded him an ex-convict.
Delivering judgment on the matter, Justice Nnadi declared that the allegation that the royal father was an ex-convict without hearing his own side of alleged ex-convict saga, was a serious breach of his fundamental right to fair hearing.
Justice Nnadi equally declared as “null, void and of no effect” the position of the lawmakers on the ex-convict status hoisted on the traditional ruler by the House.
