Pillars demolish AC Leopard

Kano Pillars demolished AC Leopard of Congo 4-1 in a CAF Champions League first round, first leg tie at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday.

Victorious coach Mohamed Babaganaru said Pillars will not relent until they qualify for the second round of the money-spinning club competition.

”My boys played to my satisfaction and played preparation for some friendlies and the upcoming Confederations’ Cup in Brazil.

However, usual suspects like Chigozie Agbim, Sunday Mba, Azubuike Egwueke, Godfrey Oboabona and Gabriel Reuben are expected to be in the squad.

In a related development, the Super Eagles and the technical crew will depart for Calabar on Monday morning at about 10am. Only NPL stars are expected to make the trip to Calabar on Monday according to Team Scribe, Dayo Enebi Achor. “By the evening of Monday,   we expect that some of the players invited will start linking up with us in Calabar, for the final leg of preparation for the World Cup qualifier against Kenya”, team spokesman, Ben Alaiya added.
