MOTHER of the Edo state Governor, Hajia Aishatu Oshiomhole, Friday, commended the state government for the empowerment of over five thousand youths in the area for revenue collection in the state.
Hajia Oshiomhole who stated this when the leadership of the Akugbe Ventures, the Edo state government recognized agent for revenue collection in motor parks, led by Comrade Tony Adun (aka Kabaka), paid her a visit at her residence in Iyanomo, Etsako West Local Government Council said the empowerment of youths will help keep them busy and also improve government revenue.
According to her, “ I want to commend the Edo state government for empowering youths in the state because this will help reduce unemployment and crime in the state.
I want to appeal to you people to work diligently so as to meet the objective of government in the area of revenue collection. We are all aware that the Comrade Governor is determined to complete all on going projects and also commence new once, I want to appeal that we all join hands and make his dreams a reality”.
Responding, Comrade Adun disclosed that they came to intimate her of the desire of the Revenue Board to commence its operation in Edo North and solicited for her prayers.
He assured that the agency will be prudent, adding that “we have also trained our staff on how to be civil when collecting revenue from our people. Any body that fights or intimidates our people will be dealt with”.
