ABUJA — A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and founding member of the South-South Peoples Assembly, SSPA, Dr. Ambrose Akpanika, has said Nigerians should not expect much from President Goodluck Jonathan as he had been caged by a cabal within the Presidency and National Assembly.
Akpanika, who stated this in an interview with Vanguard, Sunday, said though President Jonathan had the interest of the country at heart and had been making concerted efforts to execute it, the cabal would not allow him to implement his administration’s Transformation Agenda.
According to him, the same cabal frustrated the efforts of fuel subsidy where huge sums of money are being paid to them with nothing done.
He added that the only solution to move the country forward would not only be the convocation of national conference and restructuring of the country, but also the dismantling of the present political structure.
Akpanika said: “There is a concerted effort for a change but the effort is drowned because of unbridled corruption in the country.
