Gunmen attack primary school in Kano, injure headmaster, two others

KANO – A headmaster and two of his teachers survived an attack by unknown gunmen at Hausa Danmaliki Primary School in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano state.
Eyewitness told Vanguard that the gunmen sneaked into the school compound shortly after the school settled down for academic activities, identified and shot the headmaster (names withheld) at point blank.
Two other teachers who rushed out to catch a glimpse of the strange sound in the school were also shot by the gunmen and were all rushed to a government hospital.
The attack triggered pandemonium in the school and its environs as pupils run in various direction.
Reports from the hospital where the victims were placed on emergency unit confirmed that the two teachers have been treated and discharged, while the headmaster is still undergoing intensive care.
The Kano police Command, while confirming the story revealed that “the three victims survived the attack”
A statement by the Commissioner of police enjoined people to go about their duties, adding that the situation was under control.
