IBADAN—AS battle for the control of Oyo State in 2015 rages between the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN and Peoples Democratic Party, a chieftain of PDP, Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, has accused the ruling party of stealing some of its programme.
Akinjide, who is the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, FTC, in a statement through the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Lukuman Agboluaje, yesterday, claimed that Governor Abiola Ajimobi led administration was “copying my good programme of buying tractors for farmers in the state.”
Last year, Oloye Akinjide purchased some tractors for farmers in the state to increase their productivity and provide more food for the people of the state.
The six tractors were donated to farmers in the three Senatorial Districts in Oyo state at a ceremony in Ibadan, the state capital in July 2012.
She claimed Governor Abiola Ajimobi inaugurated the state`s tractors programme only in February this year.
Oloye Akinjide said: “The Oyo state government is copying my good example of buying tractors for the local government areas. I am happy to have shown the way to good governance which the state government is following.”
Oloye Akinjide further explained that she gave the tractors free to farmers in the three Senatorial Districts in fulfilment of “my promise to make life better for the people of Oyo state.”
In addition to the tractors, Oloye Akinjide assured that farmers in the state would receive fertilizers from the federal government.
According to her, “the present federal administration in the country is committed to improving the living standard of every Nigerian”.
