LAGOS — Officers of the Nigeria Police, yesterday, went after the abductors of a young woman who was kidnapped at the Mafoluku area of Lagos State.
The search further created heavy traffic gridlock along the Murtala Muhammed Airport road as men of the Police Force frisked every car on the road in search of the kidnappers.
Vanguard’s investigation revealed that the woman who was simply identified as Aisha and whose age could not be ascertained at press time was kidnapped around 4:40p.m.
It was further learnt that the woman was said to have been driving in a black SUV before she was attacked and abducted by the kidnappers.
The woman was allegedly bundled into the car booth of the kidnappers before they drove off on high speed.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, Mr. Aliru Gwandu who confirmed the incident said the kidnapping led to the dispatch of policemen to strategic positions in the state, affirming that the incident did not happen under his command.
“The information got to the police authorities. The commissioner just called that we should designate our men. A black SUV was snatched. I don’t know the numbers of people involved in the crime.”
It’s not airport command, but it happened around the Lagos State Command because it happened around Mafoluku area of the state” he stressed.
