ABUJA—ABOUT 13 different church groups within the Christian Association of Nigeria, have called on the National Judicial Commission, NJC, to commence the process of trial and imprisonment of Justice Abubakar Thalba of Abuja High Court over his recent ruling on the pension scam to save the judiciary from further embarrassment.
The group, operating under the umbrella of Tarayar Ekklisiyar Kristi A Nijeriya said the light sentence passed on the director in the Police Pension Office, John Yakubu Yusufu, amounted to a miscarriage of justice.
Reverend Emmanuel Dzieggau, President of the group, who spoke to journalists yesterday in Abuja, through his Media Assistant, Mr. Sunny Oibe, described the judge as one of the bad characters spoiling the image of Nigeria before the international community.
