LAGOS — MEGA Progressive Peoples Party, MPPP, weekend, rose from a two-day National Executive Council, NEC, meeting in Lagos and expressed readiness to go into merger talks with All Progressive Congress, APC, to defeat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 general elections in the country.
This came as the party announced the indefinite suspension of its National Secretary, Mr. Hamisu Santuraki, over alleged anti-party activities, among others.
The party’s National Chairman, Rasheed Shitta-Bay, after the congress, said it was high time the progressives came together under a strong political platform to correct the anomalies in the nation’s democratic dispensation.
