GTBank’s Heritage Cup season 2 enters q/finals

The Heritage Cup which has generated intense passion amongst both students and alumni of participating schools has entered into the Quarter Final stage.

The football tournament christened Heritage Cup is a competition for both male and female students in private and non-government owned schools sponsored by  Guaranty Trust Bank plc, one of Nigeria’s foremost financial institutions.

The Season 2 of the much anticipated tournament commenced December 2012 with 28 participating schools spread across LagosState. The schools were organized into 4 groups of 4 schools each for the male category and 3 groups of 4 schools each for the female category at a publicly held tournament draw. A total of 42 matches were played leading up to the quarter finals.

This stage of the competition promises to be very exciting as the schools that made it to the last four in the maiden edition are still in contention and intend to win again whilst the other players are also gunning for glory for their various schools.

The schools contesting for this year’s cup include: MethodistGirlsHigh School, Ansar Ud Deen College, Isolo, Queen’s College, CoronaSchool, HolyChildCollege, AdraoInternationalHigh School, Ansar Ud Deen College, Itire and DowenCollege. Others are: Anwar Ul Islam College.
