Unconfirmed reports reaching us about the death of former Big Brother housemate and sensational singer, Goldie Harvey, Susan Oluwabimpe Harvey, is that she may have died from pulmonary embolism however another close sources said that she may have died as a result of drug complications.
The great question begging for answer and mostly on Goldie Harvey’s fans mind is what killed the lovely singer?
According to medicineuptotheminute.com Pulmonary embolism, a serious condition, is a blood clot in the lungs — usually a piece of a clot that has broken off from one of the leg veins and migrated to the lungs.
Briefly the presenting symptoms of Pulmonary embolism are usually malaise, chest pain, shortness of breath and fainting and with various combinations.
This process may be initiated by a long automobile ride. While seated in a car there is some compression of veins of the lower extremity particularly the back of the thigh behind the knee. And this leads to injury of the veins and blood clots may form — a piece of which can break off and go to the lungs (pulmonary embolism)
This disorder occurred rarely for short flights but more common in longer flights. Virtually all clots occurred in people who flew over 5000 km (3100 miles). The longer the distance covered in flight the greater the chance of having a pulmonary embolus.
The greatest incidence occurred in those flying over 10,000km (about 6200 miles) and averaged about 4.7 cases per million passengers.
Pulmonary Embolism occurred primarily in people who simply sat and did not walk about at all. It occur more often in those flying economy class.
According to close friends, the singer and former Big Brother contestant, was a frequent traveller and had complained of stress in the past weeks, but insisted she was fine.
Is it that Goldie who died last night at Reddington Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos, barely few hours after she arrived from Los Angeles, United States of America could have died of Pulmonary embolism?
A source close to the music star who want to be anonymous said that Goldie died of complications from the use of drugs. “She had complications from the use of dope. I guess things went wrong this time around.” the source siad.
Another declared that “she had been into this drug stuff for some time now. I believe that contributed to her death.”
Goldie, who represented Nigeria at last year’s Big Brother Amplified (BBA) in South Africa, is signed to Kennis Music, has no drug related issues in public domain hence that fact that she is into drug may not be true.
Keke Ogungbe, the President of Kennis Music, confirmed the death of Goldie in a statement this morning. “On behalf of Kennis Music, I’m sad to officially confirm the shocking and untimely passage of Nigeria’s pop star, Goldie Harvey.
With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award the statement said but failed to shed light on cause of her death.
Many will like to know what killed her.
