THE Federal Government has said that collaborative efforts were in place to provide modern security gadgets that will enhance operations of the Nigeria Police and the state of security in the country.
The Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, who disclosed this during the presentation of 3000 police stands and patrol vehicles by Mikano International Limited, also said the move will make the Police physically and mentally fit to perform its duties, adding that efforts were being made to provide sufficient modern gadget that will enable police carry out its duties effectively.
He said: “The well being of our staff is paramount to us. However, considerable efforts have been put in place to provide the necessary equipment needed to enable them perform their duties especially as regards the security challenge facing the country.”
While receiving the stands, the Police chief thanked Mikano for its good gestures and promised that the traffic stands will be judiciously used and distributed all over the country. Abubakar also said that the stands came in very handy as Policemen needed them to carrying out their tasks, stressing that they would not be smitten by sun or drenched by the rain while controlling the traffic.
