President Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated the super eagles of Nigeria on the victory over Mali. In a tweet yesterday evening, the special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Reuben Abati said the president hailed the super eagles saying “we are on course, Up Nigeria”.
Dr Abati said the president celebrated the eagles Victory aboard the Presidential Jet NAF one on his way to London from Egypt where he attended the Organisation of Islamic.
President Jonathan had had a teleconference with members of the super eagles where he urged them to win the cup and bring it back Home.
Meanwhile, the President will on Sunday be among the spectators at the Moses Modiba Stadium in Soweto to cheer the Super Eagles in the final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
This was confirmed yesterday in Durban soon after the Super Eagles qualified for the final following their 4-1 victory over their Malian counterparts.
“President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, who spoke to the Head Coach and all the players on Tuesday evening, would attend the Final match in Soweto on Sunday,” a release from the NFF spokesman, Ademola Olajire said yesterday.
