No fewer than 2,000 members of Democratic Peoples Party, DDP, in Delta State, have decamped to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with a promise to work for the party in the forthcoming general elections, if Mr. Victor Ochei, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, wins the party’s governorship ticket, come 2015.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees at Oharisi Model Primary School, Ughelli, Chief Obaguonor Oletu, said they decided to decamp to the ruling PDP because of rumours that Ochei will contest the governorship election in 2015.
He explained that Ochei, as Speaker of the state Assembly, had been able to key into the state government’s three-point agenda of peace and security, human capital and infrastructural development, adding that there was no doubt that Ochei will improve on what was on ground from 2015 onward.
