Security, litigation at Supreme Court, Constitution review form agenda
THE thirty-six State governors under the aegis, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF will meet in the nation’s capital, Abuja, just as feedback from consultations on review of 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria forms part of the agenda.
“At the meeting which as usual will take place at the Rivers’ state governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, the governors are expected to discuss the security challenges in the country as a way of finding lasting solution to it.
“According to a statement from the NGF’s Secretariat, the lingering issue of allocation to states and the excess crude account, ECA as well as litigation at the Supreme Court will also be discussed at the meeting.
“The governors are also to meet with the World Bank Vice President, just as they will the year 2012 as well as get an update on the Peer Review Exercise and polio eradication initiative.
“The governors who will also get reports from Committees in retrospect, will formulate a 2013 Agenda; Priority issues; Funding implications & budget and Presentation by Stakeholders.
