KANO – Radiographer Registration Board of Nigeria weekend opened its Northern zonal office in Kano .
The zonal office is anticipated to cater for members from 13 states in the North west and North east geo-political zones.
Radiography Registration Board, established by Decree. 42 of 1987 is a regulatory Agency that control and regulates the activities of Radiographers in Nigeria.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kano Acting Registrar, Mr. Okpaleke Michael expressed optimism that the decision by Bayero University, Kano to establish a Radiography department will no doubt, go a long way to resolve dearth of manpower in the region.
The Acting Registrar stated that the resolve to establish a northern zonal office in Kano is part of a proactive strategy by the Board to create awareness among young school leavers to embrace the profession
Okpaleke Michael also lamented the activities of quacks in the industry and the Board’s inability to check their unwholesome practice while asking the federal Government to empower all Regulatory agencies in bringing offenders to book.
