Gunmen kill four policemen in Kano… ‘we lost only two’ says PPRO

KANO – Unknown gunmen, Tuesday morning, killed four policemen on patrol at Yan’awaki area of Ungwa Uku, Kano, during the early morning rush hour.
The Police officers were in the market when gunmen lurking nearby opened fired and killed four of them.
According to a source ‘the shoot-out lasted barely two minutes with four lifeless bodies left on the ground, triggering pandemonium within the densely populated neighbourhood of Ungwa Uku and Naibawa.
But the PPRO of the state, Magaji Musa Majia claimed only two officers died in the ambush with another officer in the patrol vehicle sustaining injury.
He told reporters in Kano that the injured officer has been treated and discharged and that a response team deployed are tracking the fleeing suspects.
The incident is coming barely 12 hours after three police men were killed by gunmen on tricycle at a heavily fortified checkpoint located at the Eastern Bypass by Tishama junction within the Kano metropolis.
