UGHELLI—DELTA State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriations has expressed worry over what it called the near zero performances of the three contractors handling the Effurun-Eku Road dualization project.
The House Committee, led by its chairman, Mr. Daniel Mayuku, was at the project site as part of its investigation tour of selected projects embarked upon by the state government, weekend.
Mayuku said the Effurun-Eku Road dualization project was awarded to the three contractors since 2010 with adequate mobilization, adding that sector ‘A’ of the project was awarded to GOMENE Construction Company for N3.6 billion with N1 billion paid as mobilisation to the contractor by the state government.
He said, sector ‘B’ was awarded to DEUX Construction company and mobilised also with about N1 billion, while the sector C was awarded to PALMYRA Construction company and N530 million paid out of the total cost of N2.4 billion contract sum.
