Lagos — There were indications yesterday that the amber light on the patrol van used by a Police team on distress call in Ajah area of Lagos, weekend, aided the rampaging robbers in identifying the van, before releasing volleys of bullets which killed three of the Policemen.
It was gathered that a distress call was received by Policemen at Elemoro that robbers were operating in a village around Lagbansa.
Policemen at Lagbansa were said to have called for reinforcement from the Area ‘J’ Command, Ajah.
However, on their way, some vehicles passed the patrol van, and all of a sudden, the last on the robbers’ entourage, reportedly opened fire on the police.
