Zambia coach Herve Renard has warned the Eagles to respect Chipolopolo as the defending champions of the Nations Cup before embarking on a wild goose chase of beating them.
Zambia and Nigeria stand on one point each after drawing 1-1 in their first matches against Ethiopia and Burkina Faso respectively.
“I’ve heard Nigerians boasting of beating us. They are entitled to their dreams but they should respect us as the defending champions.
We’ll settle scores today. I respect Nigeria because they have very talented individual players.
Zambia does not lack players, either. The Zambian team are ready to prove that their last victory was not a fluke and we are ready to go all the way to the finals”, he said.
