GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State yesterday, signed into law the 2013 Appropriation Bill, and vowed that the state government will pursue very aggressively, the property charge with a view to boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.
The governor had earlier submitted a budget proposal of over N150billion to the state House of Assembly but after altering the budget, the lawmakers approved N149.4billion, maintaining the ratio of about 60 per cent of the budget for capital projects and 40 per cent for recurrent as earlier proposed by the state government.
Oshiomhole who commended members of the House for their expeditious handling of the budget, assured that the budget will be implemented to the letter in a way that it will positively impact on the lives of the people of the state.
“I want to assure the good people of Edo state that we will sustain and infact improve upon our level of performance.”
