Asaba—DELTA State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, said, yesterday, that his command foiled an attempt to blow up the Gas plant at Ughelli in the state with explosives following a tip-off from ex-militants.
Aduba, in Asaba, while parading two suspects arrested in connection with the incident, said it was not their first attempt to blow up the plant.
He said: “It was the ex-militants that gave us the information that this was the target and that they had earlier promised that they (suspects) would blow up the plant and we were fortunate to have apprehended them. We are about concluding investigation so as to arraign them in court. They tried it once and this time around, we are lucky to have caught them.”
