BANGUI, Central African Republic (AFP) – Rebels in the Central African Republic on Saturday captured another town, inching closer to the capital Bangui, a military source told AFP.
“The rebels have entered Sibut,” a town some 150 kilometres (95 miles) from the capital, the source said on condition of anonymity. “There was no fighting,” since army troops and soldiers from neighbouring Chad left the town on Friday night to take up positions at the town of Damara, 75 kilometres from Bangui.
