KANO – Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives consisting of mobile police officers escaped a bomb attack at Hotoro Eastern bypass during a routine patrol Thursday morning in Kano.
Security sources told Vanguard that “an improvised explosive device was thrown at JTF ‘s patrol vehicle this morning”
The source said that ” the bomb was intercepted by a gallant officer who quickly threw it back at the attackers a few seconds before it exploded.”
Vanguard learnt that the officers escaped unhurt, adding that they also came under fire in the area.” The account revealed that arrests were effected at the scene of the incident
Kano police spokesman, ASP Magaji Musa Majia confirmed the incident but said the command will issue a statement on the incident.
