Bauchi Police nab 165 suspected criminals

BAUCHI—The Bauchi State Police Command, has arrested 163 suspects in connection with various criminal offences ranging from vandalization of NITEL property, armed robbery and theft, unlawful possession of firearms and drug abuse across the state .

The State Commisioner of Police, Mohammed Ladan, stated this, yesterday, while briefing newsmen on the achievements of the police during the ember months in Bauchi.

Ladan said that between October 6 and October 23, a joint patrol team  arrested five suspects for vandalizing NITEL property, giving their names as Yusuf Abubakar, Murtala Mohammed, Suleiman Mohammed, Sambo Hassan and Yunusa Ajam.

He said: “On November 24,  2012, a team of policemen attached to the GRA Police Station received a realiable information that two suspected robbers stabbed one Abubakar Mohammed of SUBEB, Gombe State with a knife at Vanilla eatery and made away with his Peugeot 406 salon car.

“The team swung into action and intercepted the vehicle abadoned close to NITEL GRA Bauchi. One Abbas Mohammed was arrested while the other suspects escaped on sighting the Police.”
