AS part of efforts to reclaim  governorship which it lost to All Progressives Grand, APGA, in 2003, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State has started sensitizing the members on ways of shopping for a credible person to carry its governorship flag in the election.

The governorship election in the state will take place in December next year.

State chairman of the party, Chief Kenneth Emeakayi, at the take- off of the sensitizing programme at Oye Market square, Ukpo in Dunukofia local government area, advised those interested in contesting the governorship election on the platform of PDP to start identifying with the party without further delay.   He insisted that PDP has not endorsed anybody as being speculated, assuring the people that the era of foisting candidates on the people was over as every interested governorship aspirant should be ready to slug it out with others during the party’s primaries, which would be held in the next six months.

He said: “The promise we made at Abuja (at the last meeting) is that PDP flag will fly at the Anambra State Government House in 2014 and we have started what we tag operation deliver your booth for every member.”

The chairman charged all the wards and local government executive members of the party to go back to their areas to fish for more members to make the forthcoming election easy for PDP.

At the meeting, theAnambraState-born oil magnate business mogul, Prince Arthur  Eze threw his weight behind the new leadership of PDP in the state, urging those in charge to do what is humanly possible to take over the state in 2014.

According to a goodwill letter he sent to the party, Eze reminded them that the only way to achieve the objective was for them to be united and sincere in all their actions.
