Tata launches new commercial vehicles, unveils unprecedented warranty

Tata Africa Services (Nigeria) Limited has launched new range of distribution vehicles from Tata Motors and Tata Daewoo commercial vehicles with unprecedented standard warranty ever in the country. The new standard warranty was tagged “scaling new heights,” the highest ever offered by any auto company in Nigeria.

The launch which took place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos was attended by industry heavy-weights like Dr. Pascal Dozie, Chairman MTN and the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria Mahesh Sachdev.

Speaking at the occasion the Executive Director Tata African Service Nigeria, Mr. Sudeep Ray, said:“with the launch of the new range, Tata Nigeria will now be offering a complete solution of distribution vehicles and after sales service in Nigeria, with vehicles starting from half ton to 60 ton payload”.

He described the performance of Tata in Nigeria as encouraging, adding that the company has sold about 3,500 vehicles in last 4 years. According to him, Tata products have become synonymous with leading companies in Nigeria.

He pledged the company’s commitment to fortify its maintenance outlets, emphasising that after sale was key success factor in Tata operation in the Nigerian automobile industry.

The Executive Director further noted that the company plans to add more service centres across the country in adition to  a 24 hour helps line, a towing trucks, a service vans.

According to him, the products are very durable, fuel efficient, and easy to maintain, hence the unprecedented standard warranty on them which surpasses all warranties ever offered in the country. Making reference to the new warranty policy,

Mr. Gerard Nayagam, Tata Africa General Manager,  said it will be the bench mark for warranties norms  in the country and  first of its kind in the Nigerian auto industry, adding that Tata products gives value for money.

Under the new warranty scheme, Light commercial Vehicles are covered by a three years or 300,000kilometers warranty (whichever comes first), while Intermediate commercial vehicles, Medium commercial vehicles, Buses,  are covered by two years or 200,000 warranty (whichever come first). Also Tractor heads are covered by two years  or 180,000kilometers  warranty (whichever comes first).

On his part,  Regional Manager in charge of  North and West Africa, Tata Motors limited, Mr. Anil Sekhar, commended Tata Nigeria  after sales service, saying that Tata Africa Services has lived  up to expectation.

Making a details, the Area Manager Nigeria, Tata Motors , Mr. Rahul Nazareth, said that Tata has the right products for the Nigerian market.

The trucks includes: Tata Xenon double cabin pickup, Tata LPT 407 truck, Tata LPT 1116 Truck and LPT 2523 truck among others.

Sachdeva in his reaction commended Tata Nigeria for the success recorded so far in the country.

Also speaking at the occasion, Dr. Paschal Dozie who spoke in a similar vein congratulated Tata Nigeria team for its commitment to the Nigerian market.
