Kano – The Kano State Government has released N94 million as grant for Kano Pillars FC to start preparation for new season.
Kano Pillars are currently the Nigeria Premier League Champions and will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League in 2013.
According to the General Manager of the team, Alhaji Abba Galadima, the money will be used to recruit players and start preparation for the coming season.
“We have already taken delivery of the money and we promise to use the money judiciously for the welfare of the staff and players for the coming season,” Galadima said.
The manager added that the fund was provided by the state governor as a demonstration of his commitment to sports development in the state.
Galadima expressed gratitude to Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso, fans and the people of the state for their continuous support for the club.
He expressed the hope that the players would reciprocate the government’s gesture by fulfilling their obligations. (NAN)
