The Federal Government has now made it mandatory for every airline operating in the country to have on board, a tracking device, known as automated information reporting system.
Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Dr. Harold Demuren, disclosed this yesterday during the formal commencement of flight operations by Medview Airlines.
He said the essence of the device was to enable pilots and other crew members know specific problems that might arise during flight.
He said: “It will be installed on each aircraft that we buy. What we are doing is that we are improving our airlines so that when they are flying and there is a problem, they will know what the problem is.”
