BY FESTUS AHON
UGHELLI — COMMISSIONER nominee on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Chris Obiuwevbi, has vowed to adopt the three-point agenda of the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, in the discharge of his duties in the commission.
Obiuwevbi, who stated this during an interactive session with Chairmen and Secretaries of Ughelli North and Ethiope East Local Government Areas chapter of the Host Communities of Nigeria, Oil and Gas, HOSTCOM, thanked the people and the state governor for nominating him into the board of DESOPADEC.
While reiterating his preparedness to give effective representation to the people of the two council areas, he pointed out that the essence of the commission was to meaningfully contribute to the development of oil producing communities in the state.
He assured that he would hold monthly meetings and work closely with the leadership of the host communities in the areas and ensure that they get their fair share in the scheme of things in the commission.
Earlier the leadership of HOSTCOM in the Areas commended Governor Uduaghan for nominating Chief Obiuwevbi as member to represent the areas on the Board of DESOPADEC.
