Konvict Music boss Akon is once again in the news as he features in Davido’s monster hit single Da mi duro but then, for the first time since Akon began churning up powerful collabos with our own local artists, this one with Davido has come with repercussions.
Akon is currently suffering a back lash from many critiques and eager fans who have listened to the colabo and then thumbed it down.
According to them, Akon who had virtually created magic in other collabos including the ones he did with P-Square and Wiz kid failed on this one.
This is not the stand of this reporter who however notes that his lyrical strength in this synergy with Davido was weak and his pitch too high and somewhat annoying.
Yet, Akon managed to hold it well in a chorus that contained strictly Yoruba words which he pronounced 99% correctly.
Do have your say on this one. If you’ve listened to the collabo, do you agree or disagree that this is a remix that shouldn’t have happened?
