Court quashes marriage over adultery

A Lagos Grade ‘A’ Customary Court sitting in Agege dissolved a 20-year-old marriage over battery, adultery and threat to life.  The court president, Mr. Emmanuel Shokunle, said the marriage  had broken down irretrievably, adding: “From today, you cease  to be  husband and wife, you shall go your separate ways. ”

You must maintain the peace every where you see each other. The custody of the children remains with their mother. ”The respondent shall be paying the sum of N15,000 monthly through the court for the children’s upkeep”.
