Azu Nwagbogu, Caline Chagoury and an international renowned photographer, Stanley Greene,are among the dignitaries expected to attend this year’s annual Lagos Photo festival, tagged; LagosPhoto 2012.
The Project Coordinator and Public Relations Officer of LagosPhoto, Evelyn Aluede, said the annual photography festival was launched in October 2010, in Lagos as the first and only international arts festival of photography in Nigeria.
According to her, this year’s edition will be directed by Stanley Greene, Azu Nwagbogu, and Caline Chagoury, and will be co-curated by Medina Dugger and Joseph Gergel.
Activities marking the annual event include exhibitions, workshops, and large-scale outdoor prints displayed throughout the city with the aim of reclaiming public spaces and engaging the general public with multifaceted stories of Africa.
The 2012 edition aims to capture the energy and vibrancy that make the city of Lagos such a unique cultural environment.
“LagosPhoto 2012 aims to document the city of Lagos from a comprehensive and nuanced perspective, one that reveals the big picture by focusing on the minute details of social life.”
The event is billed to kick off on October 13, 2012 and according to the organizers, the theme of this year’s edition is; “7 Days in the Life of Lagos”.
