THE Mimiko Campaign Organisation, MCO has rebutted allegations of betrayal leveled against Governor Olusegun Mimiko during the three day mega rallies of the ACN. In a statement by its Spokesman, Kolawole Olabisi, MCO rather accused the ACN of betraying the hopes of the people through what it claimed was the conspiracy weaved against its presidential candidate in the last presidential elections, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
MCO wondered why those who it claimed sold the candidature of their party’s standard bearer for tarnished dross were now crying out that Dr Olusegun Mimiko betrayed them when that had become their second nature.
“Ribadu lost woefully in all but one of the ACN controlled states and when the same man decided to take up an appointment with the Presidency, they shouted themselves blue in the face calling him all sorts of names. Yet they called themselves democrats,” it said.
“Only last Friday, the Kaduna State Chairman of the ACN, Alhaji Mohammed Soba blew the lid on these leaders whom he accused of selling Ribadu’s candidature for N16billion ($100m).
According to Olabisi, “yet they are quick to say they are democrats and puritans in their posturing whenever it favours them, but when things are not in their favour, they throw tantrums, abusing whoever gets in their way.
