Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi has told Goal.com that he expects all his invited Europe-based players to be in Calabar, venue of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations final qualifying match by Tuesday.
Nigeria played a pulsating 2-2 draw with the Lone Star of Liberia in the first leg of the final round of the qualifiers last month. Nigeria need a win or a goalless draw to ensure a passage to the finals of the continent’s biggest football competition holding in South Africa next January.
Keshi had picked the final 22 players which included seven home- based and the 15 invited foreign based to slug it out against a highly motivated Liberia side to decide which country would pick the precious ticket for the Afcon.
‘I spoke with all the invited players and they have all assured me that they would be in Calabar unfailingly on Tuesday which we have announced as the date that they should all gather there. So I don’t envisage any problem as regards that,” Keshi told Goal.com on Sunday.
“I will lead the technical crew and the seven players that ply their trade here in the country to Calabar [on Monday] by the special grace of God,” he said.
