Outgoing Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Alhaji Sheidu Ozigis, has challenged the Minister, Elder Godsday Orubebe, to work assiduously to complete the East-West Road project within the stipulated time, so that his name would be written on the sands of time.
Alhaji Ozigis, who described the dualisation of the road as the ministry’s flagship project, expressed confidence that “despite the financial situation of the ministry, I am very impressed with the way the Minister and his team are working dedicatedly to ensure that the projected was completed.”
Speaking at a farewell party organised in his honour, following his retirement from the civil service in Abuja, Ozigis recalled that when he resumed at the ministry, they met challenges of different types, but they were committed and passionate to deliver the mandate on the ministry.
“When I came to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, I was received with open mind by the Minister, Elder Orubebe and the Minister of State, Hajia Zainab Kuchi, and after some time, without skirmishes, I felt at ease that now I have humane people as ministers.
“We were unable to move mountain in the ministry. We met different challenges but one thing truck me, the commitment and passion exhibited by the Minister and the Minister of State, the Directors and everybody.”
