Port and Terminal MultiServices Limited, PTML, Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has impounded two 40-foot container loads of expired drugs and arrested a suspect in connection with the seizure.
The containers with registration number GCNU 4680871 and GCNU 4623001, were said to have been imported from United States of America, USA.
Briefing journalists yesterday, Customs Area Controller of the command, Mr. Zakari Jibrin, said the seized drugs were concealed among hospital equipment and were discovered by his officers while conducting physical examination of the content of the containers.
He said: “These expired drugs are dangerous to the health of Nigerians. This is what they are doing and they are killing us. Some Nigerians would have bought these things, consumed them, and at the end, they would have died.”
