A man turned his home into a boxing ring and himself a boxer using punches to abort pregnancies, a housewife has told a Lagos customary court sitting at Agbado Oke-Aro.
Mrs Olayinka Uzamat alleged that her husband aborted at least three pregnancies she carried for him with punches. This came after the marriage had produced three children.
The pregnancy – aborting – punches were the result of several disagreements.
Olayinka, the petitioner on the case of divorce, said the husband always accused her of being wayward, saying he once vowed to kill her when they had a quarrel.
She therefore urged the court to dissolve the marriage and grant her custody of the children.
In his defence, Azeez informed the court that he never raised his hands against his wife, because he loved her passionately.
The respondent pleaded that the court should not dissolve the marriage for the sake of the children, adding, however, that if his wife remained adamant, the court should grant him custody of the children.
The court president, Mr. M. O. Jolaosho, adjourned the case for further hearing.
