The Ekiti government has assured NYSC members serving in public secondary schools in the state that they would receive their state allowances.
Chief Bayo Adeniran, the Chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission, gave the assurance at the opening of a 4-day seminar on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti.
The seminar was organised by the commission for NYSC members and state volunteer corps members serving in public secondary schools in Ado-Ekiti.
Adeniran said the delay in the payment of their May/June state allowances was due to an increase in the number of NYSC members posted to schools.
He however, assured them that the allowances would be paid soon through e-payment system.
The commission chairman appealed to principals to provide adequate accommodation for the corps members, and reaffirmed the commitment of Gov. Fayemi’s administration to the provision of quality education.
In a paper entitled: “ Qualities of An Excellent Teacher”, a retired Director of Education, Mr Jonathan Falade, said teaching was an art of helping others to learn.
He advised teachers to always plan and make sure their students achieved desired results. (NAN)
